Energy efficiency is key to the transformation of energy systems and, it is estimated, will play a critical role in limiting the growth of world energy. Energy efficiency is the process whereby the per unit consumption of electricity is greatly reduced. Energy has played a crucial role in accelerating the development of a nation. While one of the reasons for this has been the population explosion, another is the enormous increase in energy intensive economic activities. As the conventional sources of energy are fast depleting and the renewable sources have not matured to an economically viable level, several economic analyses have revealed that improving energy efficiency at all levels of the energy system is the most cost-effective and quick remedy to solve this problem as well as limit the emissions of greenhouse gases. Sufficient global energy resources have importance both for the world and the countries individually in terms of sustainable development, running of the economy and welfare of the society.
Governments across the globe are stressing on the use of alternative energy production methods like solar panels, hydropower, wind energy, etc. so as to limit the use of biodiesel in energy production. This green movement is being followed to conserve and preserve energy for the future generations. This book on Advances in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development discusses a variety of topics related to energy efficiency such as sustainable or green energy technology production, energy efficient building design and manufacture of efficient electric devices. The various studies that are constantly contributing towards advancing technologies and evolution of this field are examined in detail. This book includes some of the vital pieces work being conducted across the world, on various topics related to energy efficiency. It will prove to be immensely beneficial to students and researchers in this field.
