Communication is an important part of the way that humans talk and exchange their ideas among themselves. It is a
skill that is very helpful to indicate the right kind of ideas to the other person without a de ection from the original
context or the primary thing that is to be communicated.
Communication is a skill that must be incorporated in the students from the time they take up admissions in the
schools and they start their study of the curriculum. It requires them to learn a language in which they can communicate
and also the various forms by which they can communicate their feelings such as that of body gestures, expressions,
written communications, and many other such forms.
Around the world, it has been found that English is currently serving as the most common language through which
various kinds of communications are taking place. It is important to have good knowledge of English so that the
students can converse with any other person from across the globe without much hesitation or barrier of the language.
English is serving as the universally accepted language to converse in across the world and has now been readily
involved in the curriculum of most schools across the globe. The same is taking place in the various schools across
Africa and especially in Ethiopia. Education is the tool that is necessary for Ethiopia to make a statement at the global
level and students need to be educated enough to understand the various scenarios that the world keeps facing from
day to day. Education can help uplift the poverty of a nation, which is more of a reason, why Ethiopia must focus on
making its children take up education with as much enthusiasm as possible and make them understand the various
concepts which will be helpful for them to handle the general problems they may face in their daily lives.
Thus education can be termed important for the people living in Ethiopia and English as a medium must be used to
impart the education to the people, especially young children. The children must be taught to communicate their
problems in English and make sure that they learn their chapters in the same language as it will help develop the
communication skills in them e ectively.
This book tries to educate the students on the various aspects related to Ethiopia and also makes them understand the
various parts of speech which are necessary for e ective and uent communication in English. The book informs the
students about the importance of various study skills which may help them in getting more and more knowledge and
help them retain that knowledge for a long period of time. It takes the students through the importance of health and
tness as it tries to make them aware of the various bene ts that lie with goof health and improved tness. The
students are also informed about the various cultural values and how it plays an important role in di erentiating the
various communities and making them unique in themselves, thus making them respect all the cultures and communities
equally. Then it informs them about the importance of wildlife and how the human interactions impact the wildlife.
The students are also informed about the manner in which demographics of a place are determined and the way that
these demographics are found in Ethiopia. The book tries to educate the students on the various parts of e ective
communication such as use of vocabulary involving collocations, conditionals and connotations and denotations and
the other grammatical parts of the sentences such as the voices, tenses and other forms of the verbs.
The book contains a lot of activities and exercises, practicing which the students can improve their communication
skills and knowledge of the various aspects related to the general lifestyle and general knowledge.
With this book, I hope that the students will nd a suitable medium to gain knowledge from and that this book
provides the readers with su cient information. I also hope that by taking up the lessons imparted in this book, the
students can upgrade their skills to the best levels and that they can communicate uently and e ectively in various
endeavors of their lives.
All the positive criticism and feedback on the book is most welcome.
